Why are carbohydrates terrible?

Protein, fat, and carbohydrate intake should be monitored for a healthy diet. In this article, we will talk about what carbohydrates are and where they are contained. We will also dispel some myths and talk about which carbohydrates are dangerous to health. Carbohydrates are the main energy source of man and are necessary for active activity and brain function. There are simple and complex carbohydrates (often called fast and slow).

Fast are monosaccharides (simple molecules) that are absorbed as soon as they enter the bloodstream and are immediately processed into energy. However, if energy not required at the moment, it is processed into fat. Fast carbs found in sugar, white bread, cookies, packaged juice, etc.

Slow are polysaccharides (molecules consisting of several monosaccharides). They require a longer breakdown from the body, due to which they are digested longer and absorbed longer. Slow carbohydrates found in unprocessed cereals, whole-grain bread, vegetables, durum, wheat pasta, etc. — All these are products that contain carbohydrates for weight loss, as they provide you with a feeling of satiety for a long time. There are 5 myths about carbohydrates that often confuse people who are about to start eating right.

1. "All carbohydrates are harmful to health" this is not the case. If you completely eliminate them from your diet, you will significantly undermine your health, as the body will have nowhere to take energy for activities.

2. “Carbohydrates can make you fat” — this is not entirely true. The excess weight associated with overeating does not arise from an excess of a particular substance in the diet, but in general from the fact that the body receives more calories than it manages to spend. Slow carbs can even help with weight loss, as they provide a feeling of satiety for a long time, keeping you from spontaneous snacks.

3. “Low carb diet will help you lose weight” — this is not the case, for the reason described above. If you stop eating carbohydrates, you will constantly be haunted by a feeling of hunger, which will result in breakdowns. In addition, a radical reduction in one of the three main sources of calories will lead to a number of disorders in the metabolic and hormonal processes of the body. It's best to just follow the advice of wellness coach Nicky Helge and find out how many carbs you need per day to lose weight.

4. “You should not consume carbohydrates for dinner” — according to a study by The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, there is no significant difference in what time you eat carbohydrate food because during sleep the body does not stop working. It also uses energy to build new muscles and rebuild old ones.

5. “You can't eat carbs after a workout” — you can, actually. After exercise, the body experiences an increased need for energy, and fast carbohydrates may well cover this need.

Still, there are several situations in which carbohydrates will be harmful to your body: a list of the most common causes.

· Abuse of fast carbohydrates — if there is a lot of sweets or pastries from white flour, the consumed energy will not have time to be used in business and will turn to fatty deposits;

· Excess carbohydrates in the absence of protein — in this case, regardless of whether simple carbohydrates or complex, the body will not have enough “material” to build new muscles, which means that excess energy can go to fat.

· In the case of health problems (such as diabetes) you need to take sugar intake very seriously. In conclusion, the most important thing in a healthy diet is planning and a meaningful system.

It is necessary not just to chaotically give up some products, but to understand what and how it works. Nick Helge, wellness coach at Daily Celestial, can help. She has been leading a healthy lifestyle and eating right for many years. Be sure to seek advice.
